Why did you choose your specific health professional career? As a youth, I worked in the dental department. While there I enjoyed working with the patients as well as seeing the dental assistants work one on one with patients to make a difference in each patient’s oral hygiene.

Why did you choose your specific health professional career? The reason I chose my specific career had to do with a challenge I faced. I was a gymnast when I was younger but I suffered an injury and I had to do physical therapy.

Why did you choose your specific health professional career? In high school, I attended a three week health careers workshop at Middle Tennessee State University.

Why did you choose your specific health professional career? I chose this profession because of the high prevalence of diabetes among Native Americans.

Why did you choose your specific health professional career? For the past ten years I have worked in tobacco control and prevention. I enjoy every aspect of my work because it allows me to work directly with Native American communities while using all the skills I have learned in medicine and public health.

Why did you choose your specific health professional career? I choose the area of pediatrics due to my interest in the health care needs of children. During my youth, I recall not seeing many Native Americans in the health field, especially as physicians.
